Greg Pennoyer

Greg Pennoyer has served on the Incarnation® Board of Directors since its inception in April 2022. For several decades Greg has been one the principal leaders in the Canadian charitable sector. In the early 1990s Greg co-founded the Centre for Cultural Renewal to advocate for the importance of “religion to culture and culture to religion”. After several years leading the development team of a large Canadian charity, he founded Humanitas (a charity involving a travelling and virtual exhibition of Christian visual art), creating and implementing the strategic plan and managing the team and operations over the next decade. Greg also co-founded The Canadian Roundtable for Philanthropy and served as its Executive Director for five years serving Canada’s Christian philanthropic community through events and services that enrich and inform the members’ contribution to the common good. Greg was chosen to lead the Faith in Canada 150 project of Cardus, which was a multi-faith, multi-faceted program which brought together leaders from major faith communities to celebrate the place of religion in Canada’s formation, to be timed with Canada’s sesquicentennial.


From 2018 to 2021 Greg was the Executive Director of Image, a US charity which fosters contemporary art and writing that grapple with the mystery of being human by curating, cultivating, convening, and celebrating work that explores religious faith and spiritual questions. Image is animated by its vision to be a vibrant thread in the fabric of culture, contributing to mainstream literary and artistic communities by demonstrating the vitality of contemporary art and literature invigorated by religious faith. In 2022 Greg created a new organization to assist other charities flourish.


Greg co-edited and secured funding for three reflective art books on the Christian church calendar. Contributors included some of North America’s leading spiritual writers. Greg has also served as a director of several charities, including Henri Nouwen Society and Prison Fellowship International.
