David Jennings

David Jennings founded Incarnation Ministries® (US) in 2022 and serves as its Secretary.

David has served in numerous charitable capacities over the past three decades for Christian charities within and beyond his denomination. He has had extensive experience as a board member of Canadian and American charities. David was a board member of the Centre for Cultural Renewal for several years and assisted with its merger with Cardus in 2006,. He then served on the board of directors of Cardus (a Christian think tank providing research and dialogue for the common good, through many channels, including the journal Comment) from 2006-2012 and then again 2017-2023. As an advocate for the Christian arts, David Jennings has served as chair of Pacific Theatre, as a director of Humanitas (a charity involving a travelling and virtual exhibition of Christian visual art), and as a director of the US charity which, among other things, publishes Image Journal. David sat on an advisory board for Trinity Western University’s arts, media and culture department. Mr. Jennings also served for several years as a director of International Justice Mission (Canada). David served as a board member of In Trust from 2012-2020, a Lilly Endowment organization that promotes governance and excellence for seminary governing boards and others who bear responsibility for theological education throughout North America. He has also served in various other capacities with other Christian charities in Canada and the United States.

For The Presbyterian Church in Canada, David served as an elder for 28 years and on two sessions for 23 years. David served as a member and then chair of the national committee of the denomination from 1998 to 2004 and then again as a member from 2017-2021, addressing the financial, legal and strategic issues of the denomination. David served as member of and then Convener of St. Andrew’s Hall Board for almost 17 years between 1995 and 2015 and as a member and officer of the Board of Governors of Vancouver School of Theology from 2010 to 2015. During that time David led the conversion of property assets into revenue generating properties that provided over $30 million in endowed funds, properties valued at over $50 million and balanced operating budgets. David served as the President of the Presbyterian Extension Fund in British Columbia that assists congregations with church mortgages and was a co-founder and CEO of Presbyterian Innovative Ministries that funded over $1 million in innovative ministry projects in British Columbia. In addition to these appointments, David has served on several other national and local committees and commissions within the denomination and provided legal assistance on a myriad of denominational matters.

In addition to professional legal appointments and distinctions, in 2016 David was awarded a Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) from Vancouver School of Theology.
